In the hours after your Massage
After your massage you may notice profound changes in your body and mind. Here are some things that have helped many people get the most from their massage session.
1- Drink extra water. During massage; circulation is improved, which helps flush irritating waste products from stressed muscles and other tissues. Drinking water aids the functioning of the whole body including the circulation and the kidneys, which are both involved with relieving the body of waste products. Drinking extra water also seems to help reduce soreness and fatigue after a massage.
2- Schedule time to take it easy after your massage. Rest if you feel the need. If you can , take a nap or get in bed early. If you haven't been sleeping well, recieving massage may relax you enough that you will want to turn in and catch up.
3- If the focus of your massage is on a particular injury or body part, remember to stretch, ice, or apply heat to that area with the advice of your massage therapist. Or, you may want to do some gentle movement, such as walking, sometime in the hours after your massage to mildly encourage your muscles to work in a balance and efficient way.
4- People sometimes experience some soreness 24 hours or so after a massage. If you do feel sore or think that you might, stretch gently in a hot shower or take a warm bath with Episom salts. And remember to tell your massage therapist about your experience so it can be taken into consideration in your next session.

Chair massage is a popular way of relieving stress and releasing tension right in the comfort of your home. Clients are massaged in a specialized ergonomic chair which I will carry with me to the session. Besides the usual health benefits of massage, chair massage is done over clothing. This relieves clients of the discomfort and awkwardness felt when disrobing, for traditional massage. Also, chair massage sessions are usually shorter than traditional massage, making it convenient enough to fit into your busy schedule.
Benefits and focus of Chair Massage:
- Pain in neck or shoulder region, get a chair massage, primary focus is here.
- Having an event needing one therapist call and set up an appointment
- Cultural or religious boundaries (chair massage is a wonderful way to still receive the benefits of massage)
Energy work is based on the belief that everyone has a "life force", and the body needs to sustain its balance for optimum health. Deep Tissue Massage
Deep Tissue Massage is a form of massage that relieves tension in the deeper layers of tissue within the body. Deep Tissue Massage is a highly effective method for releasing chronic stress areas due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past lingering injuries.
*Due to the nature of the deep tissue work, open communication during the session is crucial to make sure you stay as comfortable as possible. Keep in mind that soreness is relatively common after this treatment. Plenty of water should be ingested to aid with the flushing and removal of toxins that will have been released from the deep tissue during the session.
Foot Massage (reflexology)
Reflexology focuses on applying pressure to the specific nerve zones in your feet. Unlike other foot massages that intend to mostly relieve tension in the feet themselves, reflexology is a far more in-depth science that aims to harmonize your entire body. According to reflexology, every part of the human body is mapped into your feet. Reflexology treatments have been found to be highly effective for conditions such as allergies, headaches, and depression. Hands and ears are also occasionally worked on during a reflexology session.

Geriatric massage is a form of massage designed to meet the specific needs of the elderly. It helps to improve blood circulation, relieve pain, and also increase range of motion. If you are elderly, geriatric massage can help you maintain and improve your overall health, as well as regain certain physical functions that have been reduced due to aging. In addition, since the elderly don't typically receive enough physical touch, this massage can also help alleviate symptoms of loneliness or depression.
